Call of Duty: Vanguard was considered a disappointment across the board. And this reportedly caused Activision to decide to skip 2023’s instalment. We already know the next CoD game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II – it’s due out in October. But what’s in store for the 2024 Call of Duty?
A new leak has supposedly revealed what Activision has lined up next. The leak comes from a recent datamine of the Call of Duty: Warzone mobile test.
The datamining apparently revealed concept art for two maps – Stealth and Pillage – and Twitter user @RealiityUK (now suspended) shared the artwork online.

What did the concept art show about 2024 Call of Duty?
The leaked images reportedly indicate the Call of Duty game after Modern Warfare II will be a Black Ops Cold War sequel. It’s being dubbed ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 5‘ although no official title has been confirmed.
The presence of an F117 aircraft in the concept art for the Stealth map is fuelling belief the game may be set during the Gulf War. The Gulf War took place between August 1990-February 1991 as a result of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
It’s also heavily speculated that long-time Call of Duty developer Treyarch is working on the game. And as the title is rumoured to be a Black Ops instalment, this would make sense. Treyarch has developed every Black Ops game to date.
While the game is yet to be revealed, we know that it won’t be with us next year. Bloomberg reported in February that 2023 is “the first time the franchise will be without an annual mainline release in nearly two decades”.
Modern Warfare II maps leaked
Alongside the ‘reveal’ of the next Black Ops game, the full list of multiplayer maps for 2022’s Modern Warfare II were also leaked.
This new information confirmed an extensive range of varied maps in the upcoming title, which includes a returning fan favourite.
2024’s Call of Duty is still a long way away, but Modern Warfare II looks set to be the most ambitious CoD for some time. Hopefully it can satisfy players for the duration of the extended wait for the next game. And if this long list of multiplayer maps is anything to go by, it looks like it will do.
Of course, Warzone 2.0 is also on the way and will launch soon after the release of Modern Warfare II.
